Salon August

Toni is amazing!! I booked with her specifically hoping to get someone that would know how to cut curly hair and she exceeded my expectations. She walked me through everything she was doing and I loved that she provided her thought process and opinions so I could learn more about my hair type and understand how I should be cutting my hair. It’s always been a weird space to navigate my hair type, but Toni gave me a beautiful cut and made me feel much more knowledgeable about my hair! Thanks Toni!! Love my hair and can’t wait to come in again :)

Just had the best salon experience I’ve ever had. Toni was so thoughtful and discerning and honestly taught me a lot about my own hair and gave me the best possible gloss, tone, cut and style (with technique instruction) for my hair. I have consistently had sub par experiences with stylists that didn’t seem to want to make the effort to make the best decisions for my “fine, dense, heavy” hair type. Had a great chat and I love that the salon is cool and doesn’t feel like a tacky mall salon with no style. It’s cozy and clean and everyone was really nice. It’s also hard to find Davines products in the city but they’re all at salon August so there’s that. 10/10 will be back.

Terrible customer service. This is my first appointment for my hair design, I mentioned to the front desk that I needed to dye and perm my hair, which of course included a haircut. the front desk didn’t give me a clear instruction about the hair cut style lead time at the beginning . I was confused by the phone call I had with my hairstylist on the way there, and the hairstylist said I only had an hour. I drive an hour to the salon, I found that the front desk had only made an only hour appointment for me. I felt that this was not what I expected. If I had known that today would only be an hour-long haircut with design, I found out through conversation that the hairstylist didn't know that I needed a perm or dye. I know that maybe many people know what hairstyle they want, but not everyone knows it, so that’s why I need hair stylists. In my expectation, I think that it would take at least more than an hour to get my hair cut, permed, or dyed. I felt that the front desk did not give me a clear guidance, which led me to mistakenly believe that we would do a whole service today. However, the front desk also suggested to me that I should make an individual appointment for consultation. So why not mention it at the first time and you also known I am a new client. Why they didn’t guide me to make this appointment at the first time. I didn’t do any haircut or any service today, but they also charged me the fee for delay, I didn’t even get in the salon. This is not fair, even if I arrive at the salon, I will not get the results I want due to misunderstandings and mis -communication in the early stage. Disappointment and terrible service, not recommended.

I've been coming here for about a year now and always see Maxine. I have never been so happy with a stylist or my hair. Maxine really took the time to understand what I was looking for and they have helped transform my hair from a very dry, brittle and damaged state (prior to going to Salon August) to soft, silky, shiny hair. Maxine is such a wonderful stylist and person to talk to while getting my hair done. I trust Maxine with everything they do and they give great recommendations. Thank you Maxine for making me love my hair again!!

Sahil was an amazing and sweet stylist! He listened to what i wanted while also letting me know what style would be best suited and also showing me the products that hes used on my hair. Will definitely come back and recommend Sahil! Also the salon looked and felt beautiful ☺️ Apologies again for taking up more time than necessary, I didn’t anticipate for a longer time

I went here for a birthday weekend haircut, and I received one of the best cuts/styles I've had in a while. Maxine was fabulous. She carefully explained what she thought of how to work with my last cut and how to style my hair as I grow it out. She took the time to walk me through the choices she was making as she went, which was really appreciated. I wish I lived closer and could go here all the time!
